DESCRIPTION:+ PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE A 2020 STUDENT ASSOCIATION MEMBER IN ORDER TO BOOK AND RECEIVE THE DISCOUNTED COURSE FEE +\nFIRST AID COURSES\nCHSA is pleased to offer subsidised First Aid (which includes CPR) courses for SCU students at $60 per student. For The CPR Refresher course\, please see “Booking CPR Refresher” subheading below. \nThe First Aid course consists of an online theory section and a practical class. The theory component must be completed prior to the class time. Once you have completed your First Aid certificate\, it is valid for 3 years\, however\, you will need to complete a CPR refresher course every 12 months. \nBOOKING FIRST AID\nGET YOUR USI NUMBER\nYou will need to obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. Get your USI here and follow the prompts to create an account and get a number. You may already have a USI if you have previously done a First Aid course or a TAFE course. You can also recover lost USI numbers on the same website. \nBUY YOUR TICKET \nSelect your preferred class date from the Events calendar and purchase a ticket to reserve your spot. PLEASE NOTE First Aid students are required to complete an online theory component. Therefore ticket sales will close 48 hours prior to course date\, to give you enough time to complete the online modules. You will need your USI and student number to book in. PLEASE NOTE – Only book one of the courses\, either First Aid OR the CPR Refresher (not both). The CPR Refresher component is included in the First Aid course. The first 30- 60 minutes of the First Aid course is spent on the CPR component\, therefore both CPR Refresher & First Aid students are together. Once this section has been completed\, the CPR Refresher students can leave and the First Aid students will continue on with the rest of their course. Please contact the CHSA office if you have any questions. \nGET YOUR TOKEN CODE\nOnce you have booked in and purchased your ticket you should receive an email within 48 hours that gives you instructions on completing the online component of the course. You will also be issued with a token code that allows you to access the course content without paying a further fee. \nCOMPLETE ONLINE MODULES\nFollow the instructions to complete the online modules. Once you have completed all the quizzes at the end of each section you will be able to print off a Certificate of Completion. Please print this off and bring it along to your Practical Class. PLEASE NOTE – ticket sales will close 48 hours prior to course date\, to give you enough time to complete the online modules\, so please allow enough time to complete the online modules. \nATTEND CLASS\nPlease arrive 10 minutes early so class can start on time. First Aid classes usually run for 2 – 2.5 hours and CPR refresher 30 minutes to an hour. \nGET YOUR CERTIFICATE\nAfter you have completed your online theory and attended your practical class\, you will be emailed a First Aid Certificate. Please note that the Certificates are issued by a third party provider and CHSA is not responsible for sending them out. \nBooking CPR Refresher \nIf you have recently completed a First Aid course\, you are required to do a CPR refresher every 12 months. First Aid courses are valid for 3 years. In order to book a CPR Refresher\, please find a suitable course time on our Events calendar and purchase a ticket for $20. \nOnce you have attended your CPR Refresher Course\, a Certificate will be issued and left at the CHSA Office for you to collect. Please note that the Certificates are issued by a third party provider and CHSA is not responsible for the printing of the certificates and is not able to control how long the certificates take to arrive. \nTerms and Conditions: \nPlease note that your course fee is non-refundable in the event that you fail to come to class and do not notify us of your intended absence. As we have to pay the instructors based on anticipated class numbers\, we are not able to refund you or rebook you if we are not given prior notice. \nIf you wish to reschedule your booking for another date\, please contact the CHSA office at least 48 hours prior to your reserved class time. We are happy to move you to another available class time. \n
