I am a third year student and I am also going to study a Master of Education, because I am interested in being a teacher. I joined the Coffs Harbour Students’ Association because I could meet more students and make friends, as well as support others. I also like to get involved in the decisions that are made in the Coffs Harbour Students’ Association and help out whenever I can. My interests include playing the piano, going to the gym and going to church.
Hello and welcome to the Coffs Harbour Students’ Association!
We are run by students for students. We aim to make student life more enjoyable by providing a range of services, spaces and events at the Coffs Harbour campus of Southern Cross University. We are here to help you make your University experience as enjoyable, fun and supportive as possible. You are very welcome to pop in for a cuppa and a chat any time.

Studying Occupational Therapy
Hey there! I’m Mandy and prior to studying OT, I finished a double law degree before deciding not to be a lawyer. I’m a fur-mum to two dogs and a cat, and when I’m not studying, you can find me at the gym, with my camera shooting the stars, or terrorising people with my terrible dad jokes.
I am second year psychology student, a volunteer Telephone Lifeline Crisis Supporter and an ambassador for the Body Image Movement. I have a special interest in eating disorders, body image, trauma and addiction. Upon completion of my degree, I aspire to lead body image workshops to school-age children and promote a non-diet, weight-neutral, body-positive perspective in my clinical practice. When I am not studying I like to spend my time roller skating, hula hooping, reading, and practicing yoga and meditation.
Studying Occupational Therapy
As I journey to bridge the gap between work and study, it is important to know that some people out there care, and are approachable. So if you see me please come and say “hello”, as I really enjoy meeting new people. Asides, from work and Uni, I’m an aspiring actor (I’ve been blessed, to be on a couple of musicals and plays here in Coffs) I enjoy singing, obviously, and working on my culinary skills. Education can be fun, we can do this!
Jaci has recently joined the CHSA this year 2022!
She is available Monday to Thursday to assist you in making your Uni experience as enjoyable as possible. If you’re interested in starting a Club or Society, joining the CHSA Committee, experiencing any difficulties, or have any other questions, come in and have a chat.
Jodie has been with the CHSA since 2018. As a graduate of SCU, Jodie is very familiar with student life on our lovely Coffs Harbour campus, and is dedicated to supporting all our members. You’ll find her running wellness workshops, planning events or in the office assisting students. She is available from Tuesday to Friday and looks forward to welcoming new students to campus
CHSA is primarily funded by the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). This is a compulsory student paid fee which provides available funds to maintain and improve essential services and amenities of a non-academic nature for students without reducing funding for teaching.
These funds can be used by universities to focus on student services that will support and enrich the student experience.
Find out how SCU allocates SSAF funding here.
